Public Health Review Team

Sheffield Centre for Health and Related Research

Producing the highest quality evidence reviews

The NIHR has commissioned the Public Health Review Team at the Sheffield Centre for Health and Related Research (SCHARR) to collate and evaluate existing research on a wide range of topics with impact on the health and wellbeing of the population. Findings from reviews carried out by the team will help in the planning of future public health programmes and research.

The team is led by Professor Liddy Goyder, Professor Andrew Booth and Professor Sarah Salway and draws on the pool of skilled staff available within SCHARR and across the University of Sheffield, as well as topic-specific expert advisors.

The team will produce evidence reviews to inform the development and delivery of public health interventions with the aim of improving health and wellbeing and reducing health inequalities.

Reviews will be of the highest quality and value to decision makers, achieved through application of both topic and methods expertise and close working relationships with policymakers, practitioners and communities across a diverse range of sectors and organisations.

To disseminate findings and ensure impact the team will engage with national and local government policymakers, practitioners and the wider community in sharing and mobilising the evidence we identify. A range of creative materials will be used to support knowledge mobilisation.
