We are the NIHR School for Public Health Research (SPHR) at The University of Sheffield. Established in April 2012, SPHR is a partnership between eight leading academic centres with excellence in applied public health research in England. The School aims to build the evidence base for effective public health practice. Here at Sheffield, our research looks at what works practically to improve population health and reduce health inequalities, can be applied across the country, and better meets the needs of policymakers, practitioners and the public.
NIHR SPHR is funded by the National Institute for Health Research.
These studies represent independent research funded by the NIHR SPHR. The views expressed are those of the author(s) and not necessarily those of the NHS, the NIHR or the Department of Health.
